What is Yanvara?
Yanvara is an AI travel planner — an AI trip planning platform operated by Yanvara Pty Ltd (ACN 698 370 535). It turns a single travel prompt — such as "Two weeks in Japan in April, mid-range, food-focused" — into a complete day-by-day itinerary with route flow, estimated costs, weather context, a linked packing list and shareable view-only links. The free plan includes everything you need to plan one trip end-to-end.
How does the AI trip planner actually work?
You describe your trip in plain language or via the guided setup. Yanvara parses your input into structured parameters (destination, dates, travellers, budget, pace, interests) and generates a complete itinerary with realistic day-by-day timing, accommodation and activity suggestions, transport, weather-aware planning and estimated costs. Pro users can then refine any day via AI chat without regenerating the whole trip.
Do I need an account to try Yanvara?
You can describe a trip and start planning for free with no credit card. To view and keep your finished itinerary you'll enter your email — that creates a free account in a few seconds, so your trip is saved and emailed to you and you can reopen it anytime. The Free plan stays free.
What do I actually get from one prompt?
Every plan includes a day-by-day itinerary with realistic pacing, a sensible route between places, estimated costs, weather context for your dates, a packing list tied to your trip, and a view-only link you can share. On Pro you can also refine any day through AI chat and invite collaborators.
Can I see a finished trip before I sign up?
Yes. The Yanvara app's welcome screen has See a sample trip first, which opens a complete itinerary Yanvara built — days, bookings, budget and packing — before you create an account. On the web, the home page links to the same kind of sample trip.
Pricing & billing
Is Yanvara free to use?
Yes. Every new account starts with 7 days of Pro free — no card required. After the trial the Free plan is still a working AI trip planner, not a teaser: you can generate one itinerary a month and refine it as much as you like, save one trip to your account, use the simple packing checklist, share view-only links and export to PDF. Everything for taking the trip is free too: the trip offline in the app, the Today card and morning briefing, home-screen widgets, the Before you leave checklist, your trips calendar, booking emails forwarded into the trip, adding and reordering activities yourself, date polls, the day journal and Your World. Yanvara Pro at $5/month, or $39/year ($3.25/mo) billed annually, adds unlimited saved trips and generations, AI chat refinements, re-planning today when plans change, advanced packing and collaborators.
How much does Yanvara Pro cost?
Yanvara Pro is $5 per month on monthly billing, or $39 per year ($3.25/month) on annual billing — a 35% saving. Prices are in US dollars. On the web, billing is handled by Stripe and you can change plan or cancel anytime through the Stripe customer portal. In the app you can also subscribe through the App Store or Google Play — those subscriptions are billed and cancelled through Apple's or Google's subscription settings. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period; you keep Pro access until then.
What currency are prices shown and billed in?
Trip costs are shown in your chosen currency — pick from more than 25 in the header; Yanvara suggests your local currency automatically where it can, falling back to US dollars. Your Yanvara Pro subscription is billed separately: in US dollars (USD) through Stripe on the web, so the price is the same wherever you travel from, or in your local currency through the App Store or Google Play when you subscribe in the app.
Can I cancel, and do you offer refunds?
You can cancel anytime — from the Stripe customer portal in My Account if you subscribed on the web, or in your Apple or Google Play subscription settings if you subscribed in the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep Pro access until then. Subscriptions are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise — for example, the Australian Consumer Law for major failures. For any billing question, email [email protected].
How does the referral program work?
Every account has a unique referral link in the Refer a friend section of My Account. When a friend signs up using your link and upgrades to Pro, you automatically earn one full month of Pro free — applied as a discount to your next renewal if you're billed through yanvara.com, or credited to your account as free Pro time otherwise (for App Store or Google Play subscribers the credited month starts when the store subscription ends). Rewards stack, so every friend who upgrades earns you another month.
When do my free plan limits reset?
Free-plan usage (one trip generation per month) resets at midnight UTC on the 1st of each month, and the signed-out daily limit resets at midnight UTC each day. Depending on where you live that can differ from your local midnight — for example, Australian east-coast time is 10–11 hours ahead of UTC, so limits reset mid-morning local time. Yanvara Pro removes the monthly cap for normal use — a generous fair-use ceiling applies to fresh full-trip generations (refinements are never counted), which everyday planning won't reach.
Trip planning & AI
Can I edit a trip myself, or only through AI chat?
Both. On every plan, free included, you can add your own activities, change the order of a day, delete anything you don't want, tick packing items off and remove them, and react to activities. Yanvara Pro adds AI chat — describe the change and Yanvara applies it — plus editing the details of an activity or booking directly, adding your own packing items, and re-planning the rest of today when plans change on the trip.
What happens if a plan fails to generate?
Occasionally a plan doesn't finish — usually a temporary issue with an upstream service. The trip is clearly marked as incomplete and you can retry generation in one tap. If it keeps failing, email [email protected] and we'll look into it.
Is the AI-generated content accurate?
Yanvara generates trip plans using current AI models combined with real travel data, but AI output can be incomplete or inaccurate. You should verify costs, opening hours, weather forecasts, visa requirements and booking conditions before travelling. Treat Yanvara's plans as a strong starting point — not a substitute for confirming the details yourself.
Does Yanvara book hotels and flights directly?
No. Yanvara surfaces accommodation, flight, transport and activity suggestions with direct links to partner booking sites (Agoda, Trip.com, Viator, Outdoorsy, Kiwitaxi, Holafly and others) where you complete the booking yourself. We never store your payment details for bookings. We do earn a small affiliate commission on some bookings — this never changes what we recommend. Already booked something? Forward the confirmation email to your Yanvara address and it is offered into the right trip.
What languages can Yanvara plan in?
Yanvara can generate trips in 20 languages — including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Hindi, Arabic, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Turkish, Russian, Polish, Swedish and Danish. Choose your language from the header before you plan.
How do I turn a TikTok or Instagram post into a trip?
Share it to Yanvara. In the app, tap Share on a TikTok, Instagram post or blog and choose Yanvara; on the web, paste the link into Inspiration (yanvara.com/inspiration). Yanvara reads the post and offers a trip idea you can plan from in one tap. Inspiration also has a destination of the day, a free Someday list that tells you the best months to visit each place, and a long-weekend finder that shows which public holidays are worth booking leave around.
What is the Near-you concierge?
It's a Pro feature for the days between trips — open 'Near you' from the header. Share your location and Yanvara surfaces great real places around you (with live opening hours and contact details), filtered for how you're travelling — with kids, a date night, dinner, a rainy day. It can chain the best few into a one-tap walkable afternoon, suggest weekend getaways from your city, answer travel questions in an AI concierge chat, keep a board of saved ideas, show what's on locally, and bundle handy tools like a currency converter, tipping guide and phrasebook. You can start free — sign in and try it, then upgrade to Pro to use it fully.
Before you leave & on the trip
Does Yanvara work offline?
Yes, in the app. Open a trip in the Yanvara app on iOS or Android and mark it Available offline: the itinerary, photos and bookings are saved on your phone, so the trip opens with no signal. The Before you leave checklist reminds you to do it before you go. It's free on every plan.
What is the Today card?
While a trip is under way, the itinerary opens with a Today card: where you are, the weather and your next stop, with a Directions button that opens your maps app. It's free on the web and in the app. The app also sends a short morning briefing at around 7am local time on each travel day, for trips with confirmed dates. If the day goes sideways — rain, running late, too tired — Yanvara Pro can re-plan the rest of today from places already in your trip, and shows you the new plan before anything changes.
Is there a widget, or a Lock Screen view?
Yes. Yanvara has home-screen widgets on iOS and Android: they count down to your next trip, then show today's plan once you're there. On iPhone you can also turn on a Live Activity in the app's Settings to follow the day's next stop on your Lock Screen, and ask Siri "What's next on my Yanvara trip" or "Open my Yanvara trip". Widgets and the Live Activity are free.
What is the Before you leave checklist?
A checklist Yanvara builds from your own trip as departure gets closer: what to book and by when, visa requirements, the safety advisory, travel insurance, an airport transfer, packing, saving the trip for offline and confirming your dates. Everyone on the trip sees the same ticks, and the app sends a reminder a week before you leave. It's free.
Can I get my bookings into my trip?
Yes. Your account has a personal forwarding address (in Account, under Bookings inbox). Forward a flight, hotel or tour confirmation email to it and Yanvara reads it and offers to add it to the right trip — nothing changes until you say yes. A hotel you've booked isn't counted again in the budget, and your bookings are shown only to you and the people on your trip, never on a view-only share link.
Can I add my trips to my calendar?
Yes. From Account, subscribe to your trips calendar once in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or any calendar app that takes a subscription. Every trip with confirmed dates appears, at the destination's local time, and new trips join it as you confirm their dates. It's free.
Sharing & collaboration
Can I share a trip with travel companions?
Yes. Every saved trip generates a view-only share link that anyone can open in a browser without an account. Pro users can also invite collaborators by email — invitees accept the invite and can view and contribute to the trip in the same workspace. You can remove a collaborator at any time from the trip settings.
Can my group vote on dates?
Yes. The trip's owner offers two to five start dates, everyone on the trip votes yes, maybe or no, and the owner picks — every day card is re-dated in one step. Share the voting link and anyone can vote by name without an account. Date polls are free.
Who can see my trips?
Your trips are private by default. A trip is only visible to others if you create a view-only share link or add it to the public explore feed — and even then it shows only the itinerary outline, destination and a preview image, never your email, billing or account details. You can make a trip private again or delete it at any time.
Account, data & security
Does Yanvara support two-factor authentication?
Yes. You can enable two-factor authentication (2FA) in My Account using any TOTP authenticator app — Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password and similar all work. Once enabled, sign-in requires both your password and a 6-digit code. You can disable 2FA at any time after verifying with your current code.
Can I export my account data?
Yes. From My Account you can export a JSON file containing your account details, planning preferences, all saved trips and your AI request history. This is provided to satisfy GDPR Article 20 data portability requests and similar privacy laws. Exports are generated on-demand and not stored on our servers.
What happens when I delete my account?
Account deletion runs on a 30-day grace period. Your account is disabled immediately so you cannot sign in, but the data is only permanently purged 30 days after the deletion request. If you change your mind during that window, contact [email protected] to cancel the deletion and restore access.
Does Yanvara work on mobile?
Yes — there's a native Yanvara app for both iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play), with offline trips, a Today card and morning briefing while you travel, home-screen widgets, sharing to Yanvara from other apps, push reminders and, on Pro, the Near-you concierge built in. On iPhone it adds a Lock Screen Live Activity and Siri. Grab it at yanvara.com/app. Prefer the browser? Yanvara is also a progressive web app that runs on any modern device and can be added to your home screen — same account, same trips, on both.
What is Your World?
A map of everywhere you've been, at yanvara.com/account/world and in the app, built from your Yanvara trips and any places you add yourself. For trips whose dates have passed it asks whether you went, so the map stays true. Year in Travel sums up each year — the summary is free and the animated story is part of Pro. Each trip also has a private day journal that only you can see: writing is free, and adding photos is Pro.
Does the app have dark mode?
Yes. The app follows your phone's light or dark setting, or you can choose one in Settings. It supports larger text sizes, and every change you make shows a small progress note that tells you when it's done.
